This information is addressed to Teamwire on-premise customers and partners.

Starting with Debian 13, the directory for temporary files (/tmp) will be mounted as a RAM disk by default. This means that those files will occupy RAM directly.

ℹ️ What is the impact on your server?

  • The server performance is greatly improved since read and write processes are considerably faster with this method.
  • By default, the system can use up to 50 percent of the RAM for the tmp directory.

Our recommendations

  • After migrating to Debian 13, monitor your RAM usage for the next few weeks.
  • Please adhere to the specifications for server uptime in our 📖Foundations document (the working memory is wiped upon rebooting the system).
  • If, contrary to our expectations, there is a significant increase in working memory usage, please contact our support team.
